Blackjack Texas Hold’em – Learn the Basics
Blackjack is currently the most popular casino card game worldwide. The popular game is usually played on tables of 52 cards and also is an American cousin of the world wide family of card games, called Twenty-One. The family also includes the British version of blackjack, referred to as Black Jack, and the European version, Vingt-et-Un. In the United States, the names of the games are taken from the French word “Bluc de Boeuf”, which translates as “open face card game”.
In a blackjack game, players discard their accumulated hands and choose a hand value from the deck of cards. Once all players have chosen a hand value, then the dealer reveals the cards and proceeds to deal seven cards to each player, face down. One player gets five cards, while the rest have four. After dealing seven cards to the players, the dealer places the cards back into the deck and the game is now ready to begin.
At this point in the game, it is usual for the player with the highest hand value to raise the betting to one card (i.e., Blackjack). In some cases, a player may raise just one card and in others may either have one or none raised. In the event of having no raised cards, the last person standing will have to call. If the caller wins, the pot increases to the highest possible bid amount. Otherwise, the bettors are out. In a multi-table game, the last person standing is always the winner of the blackjack, unless there are two or more persons tied for the final table position.
Another version of the game, Blackjack Texas Hold’em, follows a slightly different set up. In this variation, the dealer deals seven cards to the players and instructs them to either call (matching the same color) or raise (making a bet equal to the bet made by the dealer). Once the last card has been dealt to the players, the dealer calls for the first round of betting. Every player has the right to make one or more bets and only one card remains at the end of the game. The dealer calls that card and then starts the second round of betting.
The basic strategy of the Blackjack Texas Hold’em is to bluff. Bluffing involves matching cards and doing similar actions so that your opponent thinks that you have more cards than you do. You can bluff by matching a red up-card with a blue or a black up-card with a white. This will usually fool your opponents and you may win the pot. However, to bluff without having your own cards revealed, you should be able to quickly figure out whether the other players are blabbing about the same thing or not.
